Available Classes

Basic On-Leash Obedience Class: The basic commands: heel, sit, down, stay, and recall are covered in this 6 week group course. Behavioral problems such as garbage picking, jumping, digging, excessive barking and food stealing are also addressed. This program has been offered for nearly 15 years. It is taught by Carol and assisted by a minimum of two volunteers so individual attention is given to students in need. It is held on Monday evenings at Doggie Paradise in Wallington, NJ. . Class size is limited so sign up early to reserve your spot.

Private In-Home Instruction/ Obedience: The same program as the Basic On-Leash Obedience class in the comfort of your home and surrounding neighborhood. It is a five week program and can be customized to address any specific behavioral problems you may you may be experiencing. This class is ideal for someone with irregular schedules and time concerns.

Puppy Orientation class: Puppies are not too young to learn good manners! Get off on the right paw with your new family member and avoid the common training mistakes that can quickly lead to bad habits. This class is tailored to puppies of less than 4 months of age that are too young for the structured obedience classes appropriate for older dogs. Puppy orientation is a one session class held in your home and lasts approximately 1.5 hours.

Housebreaking: Housebreaking assistance is here! A one time session of approximately 1 to 1.5 hours is designed to give you the knowledge and skills needed to housebreak your new dog.

Problem Solving: Have only one specific problem you'd like to correct with your pet? If you have a basic training foundation with your pet, some issues can be resolved in as little as two sessions. A full evaluation will be done and a customized program will be designed to suit your needs. The duration and number of sessions will be determined at the time of the evaluation.

Group lessons: If you share dog related problems with your friends and family, you can set up group lessons in your home. Class size is limited to four dogs. Basic on-leash obedience will require a five week commitment. Group discounts apply.

Follow-up counseling: Once your training is complete, you will never be on your own. I will provide you with assistance by telephone if you have any questions or concerns.
